School Trips

Woodland Activities for Schools

Canoe Trail regularly works with local schools and youth groups to offer watersports activities, canoeing and kayaking. Working alongside our award winning social enterprise Inspired Life CIC we have worked closely with schools and community groups for the past 5 years engaging over 29,000 young people.

Our canoeing, kayaking and adventurous activities have been delivered in the school setting and as part of learning in the outdoors. Our coaches and instructors are experienced at tailoring sessions to meet curriculum needs, towards qualifications and to develop life skills. We work closely with schools to provide full copies of all health and safety paperwork including copies of insurance, risk assessment and qualifications.

We work closely with organizations such as the Princes Trust and have provided their residential programmes in conjunction with Luton Tokko youth centre for the past 2 years. We ensure activities are structured to provide safe environments to learn lifeskills including communication, problem solving, teamwork, leadership, risk management and decision making.

We believe that learning in the outdoors and expanding young people’s experiences with structured activities including canoeing, kayaking and team challenges helps prepare them for the challenges of life and the working world. Our school trips and youth programmes are proven to raise self esteem and develop life skills for young people equipping them with new skills and learning for life.

We usually structure bigger groups and school parties with multiple activities in rotation to allow the participants to experience difference challenges.   We have provided a broad range of activities and programmes including enrichment activities, adventure school formats, summer school programmes and work experience weeks for vulnerable learners.
