The canoe Trail team will be taking part in the Yukon River Quest, a 444 Mile Wilderness Canoe Race.

Two of Canoe Trails instructors are taking part in the 18th annual Yukon River Quest Race from Whitehorse to Dawson City. Richard Harpham, part of the family team that runs Canoe Trail, and paddling guru Rob Campbell, one of our coaches are racing 444 miles following the gold rush route of 1898. The race is well attended with over 94 teams from 14 countries taking to Stand Up Paddle Boards (for the first time ever), canoes, kayaks and Voyagers (large team canoes). You can find out more about the Yukon River Quest, one of the toughest races in the world at http://www.yukonriverquest.com/

The team have been training hard for months and as well as coaching and guiding within our own business and sharing their passion for paddling they have been off paddling different rivers around the UK including the Stour, Severn, Thames, Nene and our own stunning River Great Ouse.  Both of them also took part in the UK's toughest race the 125 mile Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race, although hey paddled with different team mates. Rob has in fact completed the race 10 times and won it in the C1 class on 3 occasions.

This race will see Richard take his adventure tally to over 8700 miles of human powered trips by bike, kayak, canoe and ski and we plan in future to be offering a Canoe Trail customer trip to the Yukon. If you are interested drop us an email about our completing one of our planned expeditions to Scotland, Sweden or the Yukon. You can see more about Richard's adventures at www.richadventure.com

Rob Campbell is a Level 4 canoe coach with a vast experience of canoe expeditions in Sweden, Canada and Scotland. He was explored many of the inland and sea lochs in remote parts of Scotland feeding his passion for art and sculpture.
