Richard and Ashley are no strangers to canoe adventures and expeditions. The Bedford-based couple is the brains behind the family-run and award-winning business Canoe Trail. They have canoed many iconic locations including Ontario classic routes, the second descent of the North Seal River, and many paddling trips to the mighty Yukon River. Richard has covered over 11,000 miles of human-powered adventures including sea kayaking Vancouver to Alaska on the Inside Passage, Canoeing the Yukon River, completed the Yukon River Quest, and even Juneau to Whitehorse over the Chilkoot Trail.

Rich and Ash's adventures have regularly been shared in national and international media and magazines including BBC1, regional radio and TV, Huffington Post, Adventure Travel Mag, Wanderlust, Bushcraft and Survival Skills Magazine, Paddler, The Paddler, National Geographic Kids Magazine. Richard has shared their adventure stories at national shows including BBC Countryfile Live, Outdoor Show, London Boat Show, RGS, Adventure Travel Show as well as schools, Scouts and corporate events.

"Up a Creek Without a Paddle" - Tales from Wilderness Canoe Expeditions

The team on the Yukon River sand bankTo join the evening of adventure stories you will need to register above (it's FREE!) to enjoy the fun. The dress code is up to you as are the refreshments! The adventures and hair-raising moments have come thick and fast and the online zoom talk will some of the incredible wildlife, bears, wolves, and lynx through to bloopers and misadventures. 

We will be sharing some of our bigger expeditions including canoe trips on the Yukon River, our North Seal River Canoe Expedition mapping the river and some of other Canadian wilderness trips.  Highlights include 10 mins with a wild lynx, Northern Lights, running huge rapids, getting stranded and even racing the Yukon from Whitehorse to Dawson in under 60 hours.
