Our Friends

We feel truly honoured to be able to make a living from Canoe Trail and Inspired Life, to be able to share our love of the outdoors with others, to work outside and paddle lots, by canoe, kayak and stand up paddle board.

"It is a lifestyle not a label."

We have plenty of amazing friends that we can personally recommend or can help you organise some trips and activities for the future;

Other Great Organisations

Obviously we are biased as we founded Inspired Life to inspire young people and communities.  Inspired Life has been nominated for 4 awards including being a London 2012 Inspire Mark Project, being a finalist in the Independent Business Excellence Award and also as a trailblazing  newcomer in the RBS SE 100 index. Since our launch we have already inspired over 29,000 young people in schools and community projects.

Set up by one of our great friends David Gordon, former international pole vaulter, bamboo clothing is an award winning lifestyle brand with great environmental and comfort properties. Richard has used it for years on his expeditions in the harshest of conditions. If you enter the discount code HARPHAM you will get 20% discount off any purchases.

Rich Adventure is a website summarising Richard's activities including his human powered adventures, and the brands and campaigns he has worked on. This includes managing the Ghana Ski Team to the Winter Olympics, the Spare Seat from Niagara Falls to the Statue of Liberty, Cycling the Sahara and plenty more besides. It also explains some of his enterprising work running major sporty, a 'Facebook for sport' from 2003 to 2008 and also launching Inspired Life, a community interest company (social enterprise)

Endless River is another great family run business that offers a one stop shop for kayaker and canoeists for all the accessories and kit needed. They even design and manufacture their own kit with clever bits and bobs such as temporary seats, canoe poles, fixings and so on. We work closely with them and recommend them for first class service.

Canoe Show

Run by our friends Roger Burlinson, Film Maker and Olympic Medalist and TV Presenter Helen Reeves Canoe TV is a digital media project set up Maximus Productions and produced in paddling episodes for British Canoeing. Richard and Canoe Trail have been known to feature in different stories.

Local Friends

Viking Kayak Club is our local kayak club where Richard first learnt to kayak many moons ago. It is the home of Etienne Stott, Olympic Champion and offers many different paddling disciplines in a club format. Richard and Ash are club members and Richard plays canoe polo and races for the club and is also one of the club coaches.

Browns of Stagsden is a traditional British Farm with an award winning farm shop. It is located about 200 metres from our home and we love the fact that the animals are treated well, no horse meat and that they sell free range food. The animals have a good life and the minimum field to fork food miles. We provide Browns food in our hampers and for corporate catering and food for groups.
