Canoe Trail is delighted to report that they have secured EU funding to help develop new ‘green adventure’ activities in the Bedfordshire and Huntingdon Claylands area.

Our River Great Ouse operating area is part of this designated area and as such can benefit. Canoe Trail has continued our annual investment into the best equipment and activities on the market including Silver Birch Canoes, Motiv Trailers, Helsport and Sovatta Tents amongst other new purchases.

This grant has been made possible through European Funding where they part match fund against our capital investment.

Our new additions which arrived during 2019 include:

  • Airguns and archery for groups
  • New 10 canoe trailers from Welsh manufacturer Motiv
  • New 17ft canoes from our friends at Silverbirch Canoes in Attleborough
  • A new outdoor classroom tent for D of E and other activities
  • A personal favourite with a new Sauna Tent from Savotta
  • New additional tepee tents from Helsport
  • New river signage and promotional materials developed in partnership with Bedford Borough and Liquid Designs

Thanks to Bedfordshire Rural Charities and the EU for their financial and technical support on the grant.  Funded by the European Agricultural Fund For Rural Development Europe Investing in Rural Areas.
