About Us - the Inspired Life Journey…A London 2012 Inspire Mark Project
Inspired Life CIC is a multi-award winning social enterprise which pioneers development of life skills, building on strengths, goal setting, and developing strong emotional literacy skills for young people. Inspired Life CIC was developed as part of the TaMHS (Targeted Mental Health in Schools) government path finder project which delivered mental health initiatives for several local authorities working in hundreds of schools.
Inspired Life was delivered as a programme funded by Central Bedfordshire Council for over 5 years and then beyond that delivered across Bedfordshire and Luton as well as other community hubs.
It is now funded through small grants, directly by schools and corporates wanting to deliver inspiraton and develop human capital.

Inspired Life our sister company delivers programmes in partnership with Canoe Trail which is an Approved Delivery Partner for SEND and Alternative Provision in Bedfordshire.
Canoe Trail is also an approved activity provider for DofE, CCF(combined Cadet Force) and Alternative Provision as well as holding an AALA licence, IOL membership, Approved Delivery Partner for Paddle UK, Adventure Mark and Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Mark.
Kempston Outdoor Centre is the home of Canoe Trail, which is one of our locations for Inspirational Programmes with Inspired Life our sister company.
Inspired Life CIC was a multi award winning social enterprise that was a London 2012 Project and has engaged over 48,000 young people, written 3 books that raise aspiration and promote goal setting and has also developed over 300 well -being resources.
Our Proven Life skills and Inspirational Programmes deliver:
- Build confidence and raise self esteem
- Develop life skills (including leadership, decision making, problem solving, communications, team work, creative skills, risk management, to help with employment and life goals
- Map out personal strengths and build targets and goals for future dreams and aspirations
- Work with positive role models such as professional adventurers, Olympians, musicians and entrepreneurs
- Work with mentors to explore and support your ideas and goals

- Access to over 300 resources including our 3 award winning books, well-being tools and worksheets
- Bespoke days and events tailored for your themes
- Assemblies and inspirational speakers including Olympians, Adventuers, Musicians and more
- Role Model Programmes delivering 23.8% improvement in adolescent wellbeing – NHS scale
- Our Well-being journal
- Team Challenges such as adventures, enterprise or environmental sustainability activities
- Adventure School featuring water sports and adventure activities
Adventure School Activities and Lifeskills
Adventure School was created by Inspired Life alongside Canoe Trail providing a unique blend of outdoor activities, role models, life skills and well-being tasks and reflection.
Adventure School was set up with grant funding from Sport England under their Sportivate programmes. The programme has then been funded for 7-8 years following the initial grant.
The programme helps build lifeskills in young people including problem solving, decision making, leadership, team work, communications, creative skills and risk management.

Providing a young person with high quality outdoor activities aged 11-15 then 75% of them will do it do it for life (Sport England and Outdoor Industry Association Research)

Assemblies Outcomes
- 75% felt inspired or very inspired following the assembly (Primary and Secondary).
- 85% found it helpful or very helpful in thinking about life goals and their plans
- 95% found it helpful or very helpful for goal setting
- 88% learnt a new skill.
Role Model Programme Outcomes
Based on last 175 young people taking part in the programme
100% found it helpful or very helpful in thinking about different opportunities in life
100% found it helpful or very helpful to think about their own dreams and adventures
100% were either inspired or very inspired
From weeks 1 to 5 they also indicated the following averages:
- 13% improvement in aspiration
- 8% improvement in confidence
- 12% improvement in motivation
- 11% improvement in feeling better about family
The 175 young people selected were a mix peer group of young people with Tier 1-2 presenting issues and struggling to engage in school and their learning.
The participants also registered an average improvement in adolescent well-being on the evaluated health scale (NHS) of 22.31%.
