our new Paddling Guide Book by Ash and Rich Great British Paddling Adventures: More than 50 routes for kayak, canoe and paddleboard

We are excited to announce our new Paddling Guide Book by Ash and Rich the Canoe Trail Directors

Great British Paddling Adventures: More than 50 routes for kayak, canoe and paddleboard by Ashley Kenlock and Richard Harpham FRGS

The brains and brawn, you can work out which, from Canoe Trail, watersports and activities have spent the last few years paddling well over 100 rivers, lochs, canals and coastal areas to create this Paddling Guidebook. The book contains over 50 iconic routes which are broken down into step by step descriptions of rapids, portages, start and finish locations and much more.

We set out to make it the best on the market with lots of information about wildlife, history, local facilities, points of interest as well as paddling information for lots of routes from short paddles by canoe, kayak and SUP to day trips and overnight multi day trips.

The book is written by paddlers for paddlers by professional adventurers who have covered over 14,500 miles of human powered expeditions across the globe. Don’t worry this book covers beginner routes to more advanced paddling with some of Britains most incredible rivers and waters.

Paddling routes included cover the UK mainland from the River Spey, Loch Lomond, River Spey and Great Glen Canoe Trail in Scotland, to the River Dee, Bala Lake and other Welsh locations. In England we have included many iconic waterways from stretches of the Thames, Padstow and Carrick Roads in Cornwall through to the River Great Ouse, Trent and hidden gems around the country.

The book has already received incredible endorsements from paddling and outdoor friends including:

  • ‘I cannot think of many people better equipped to share a love of paddling and the best locations around the UK.’ Sir Ranulph Fiennes
  • ‘Rich and Ash have poured their passion for paddling into this unique guide.’ Steve Backshall
  • ‘Adventures are good for the soul. And adventures on water are even better!’ Etienne Stott MBE
  • A unique guide to paddling some of Britain’s most iconic rivers, coastline and lakes.’ Ray Mears
  • A must-buy for any paddler.’ Miranda Krestovnikof

Just returned from a week in Scotland with Canoe Trail. It was one of the best organised trips I have done. The team were awesome, great instruction with loads of patience for those new to paddling.
