Kempston Youth Centre

Canoe Trail are proud to be running Kempston Youth Centre alongside the outdoor centre which serves thousands of young people each year through after school clubs, school enrichment days, youth work, youth charities and programmes like the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) scheme funded by government.

Kempston Youth Centre is a purpose built youth centre and one of the main activity bases for young people in the Borough. Canoe Trail are in the process of revitalising the Youth Centre with new activities such as inflatable games, paint and décor upgrades, digital services and screens, and lots more.

Kempston Youth Centre is available to hire with dedicated spaces, meeting rooms and the main sports hall as well as a dedicated recording studio for musical activities.

The Youth Centre has the following rooms and activities on offer:

Main Sports Hall

An indoor sports hall with a range of traditional games including basket ball, football, badminton and other games. The sports hall can also be set out for conferences and meetings, inflatable games for hire (surcharge applies), soft archery (archery using soft rubber tipped arrows ), target archery (coming soon) and air rifles (coming soon).

Kitchen and Breakout area

A soft space with comfortable chairs and meeting room tables located next to the kitchen offering a great space to encourage cooking skills, run interactive workshops and relax. The breakout area is adjacent to the balcony and is a lovely space with lots of light.

The kitchen area can be available for drinks refreshments. If the kitchen is used for cooking then it is subject to a separate hire charge detailed below.

The youth centre is equipped with a pool table and football table providing traditional games for young people and those reliving their youth to relax and enjoy playing pool or table football aka foosball.

Meeting Room / Classroom

The end meeting room is a great space for inspirational workshops and can seat approximately 20 people depending on the seating format. We have projectors or TV screens to ensure digital assets can be shown for teams and meetings.

Music Room and Recording Room

The music room is equipped with a wide selection of instruments and musical equipment offering the chance to make music with keyboards, guitars, drums and more. The recording room allows a professional studio experience recording music and songs. By arrangement we can organise our resident musician to support music making activities and sessions.

The recording room will be adapted to provide some gaming resources for interactive digital games as a new activity offer.

Quiet Meeting Room

The centre also has a quiet meeting room with chairs in an informal setting for mentoring, reflection and well being sessions. Again this is bookable by arrangement.

Other Facilities

The youth centre is well equipped with green spaces outdoors with grass and treed areas.

The centre has dedicated male and female toilets and a disability access toilet as well.

Pricing

Kempston Youth Centre is an open and dedicated youth and community space perfect for activities, meetings and other sessions.  The meeting room, recording studio and live room and quiet meeting room are all discreet spaces which are segregated by doors.

The main sports hall, games area, kitchen(refreshment only) and breakout area are all more open plan and are generally booked as one main area.
