The course aims to allow the participants to experience a range of equipment, and to teach/coach the participant in ways to use the equipment as well as improvised systems.
The British Canoeing (Paddle UK) Paddle Sports Instructor (PSI) course is an entry-level qualification. Suitable for ages 14+. Next available dates: 12th-13th September 2026
Paddle Sport Instructor course enables you to lead and coach beginner sessions on very sheltered water.
Options: Can be completed on Canoe, Kayak or Paddleboard

The Paddle to the Pub Social Event Sunday 26th September 2026 1pm
Join the fun loving Canoe Trail team for a relaxing paddle from our Bedford Embankment down to the iconic and historic riverside pub called the Kingfisher public house.
You can chose from a choice of canoe, kayak (tandem or solo) or stand up paddle board (SUP) to paddle the couple of miles down to the Kingfisher and towards Cardington and of course back. This section of the river is stunning with secluded river banks teeming with wildlife including king fishers, otters and herons.
- The menu is delicious with a choice of plates from the main course and a drink
- 26th September starting at 1pm
- Get drinks (tea, soft drinks, pint or whatever social drink you want) and quick snacks at the Kingfisher (we will have about 30 mins)
- Adult £29 per person/Child £19 per person includes hire, guiding down to the pub, you need to purchase your drink
