Trip Itinerary

Day 1
We will launch near Sudbury's beautiful historic Mill (now a community theatre) and head along the quiet backwaters towards the first portage point. The river is packed with history and small features including small weirs you can shoot and stunning mill ponds as depicted in Constables famous works.  There are old WWII pill boxes along the way.  We will camp on the riverbank for a leisurely and mellow camp with delicious food.
Day 2
After a hearty breakfast, the second day has much to offer with Langham Flumes and Dedham Vale as well as the jewel in the crown with the National Trust run Flatford Mill. Personally, we also love the little village pond at Stratford St Mary. The river winds onwards towards the coastal estuary and Dedham Vale, an area of outstanding natural beauty with plenty of birdlife and wildlife on offer.
