Canoe Trail Highly Commended in Bedford Borough Everyday Hero's Awards
Canoe Trail is proud to be nominated as a finalist for the Bedford Borough Everyday Hero's Awards for the Pride in Bedford Borough Category and recognised as "Highly Commended"
We were a finalist which meant shortlisted from a host of other great organisations within the Borough for the Pride in Bedford category and then Highly Commended which was lovely.
Ash CPO (Chief Paddling Officer) commented:
"As a family run company we work really hard behind the scenes in our DNA to share a passion and love for the river and the great outdoors. Each year we deliver over 13,000 activity sessions but also provide apprenticeship schemes for local people, organise free river clean up events, promote the town putting money and effort into the visitor economy and try to share a sense of fun"
This year alone we have :
- Featured in the Great British Paddling Adventure Guidebook written by us
- Featured in the i-Paper for doggy paddling and dog based adventures
- Supported over 5,000 youth based activity sessions
- Provided well-being and mental health resources to young people and partners we work with
- Providing inspirational talks and activities at national events and shows we work with putting Bedford on the map
- Written for national publications and delivered talks with partners such as the Camping, Caravan and Motorhome Show and also the Kendal Mountain Festival.
The final awards were presented at the Grove theatre, Bedford hosted by Bedford School, The Bedford Independent, Bedford Radio and local sponsors.. It was lovely to be alongside so many deserving organisations and of course to be recognised for our hard work.
