Spring will be springing into action soon and then summer will be on its way. The usual debate around weather will ensue.

This year more than ever we believe more people will choose to connect with Great Britain and explore some of the nooks, crannies, and backwaters that make it so great. Book a staycation with Canoe Trail on one of our canoe and camp trips, family breaks and longer paddling trips to enjoy a back to nature holiday break.

Canoe Trail has built its business on sharing a passion for the outdoors primarily with UK short breaks by canoe, kayak or stand up paddle board, longer paddling trips, trips and expeditions. This year more than ever we hope people will chose to book a canoe trail canoe and camping trip to enjoy our stunning river located in the heart of England and less than an hour from London.

Staycations #staycation and multi activity breaks appear to be on the rise with people wanted to reduce their carbon footprint, enjoy green adventure and explore our amazing island.

Some ideas for you include;

Longer Paddling trips

We have introduced a new longer paddling trip with 4 days paddling, you can customise this to longer by extending your trip retracing back to the start. Each night you can camp somewhere idyllic on the banks of the River Great Ouse. The first night involves paddling to our award winning wild campsite at our private woodland on the banks of the river. Relax here and unwind with an open campfire amongst the trees and under starry skies. From there you will paddle downstream to St Neots where you will camp at the St Neots campsite, again on the river bank with facilities such as a shower block. The third day involves paddling downstream past Huntington to the National Trust campsite at Houghton Mill which is another stunning location. After a refreshing night you will paddle back to St Neots to be collected and returned to the start.

Friends and Family camps

We have seen a massive increase in family bookings and family camps over the last few years with some customers returning this year for the third successive year. These family camps are the prefect opportunity to unwind, re-wild the kids and spend quality family time on a digital detox. Often the family camps chose to book some of our other activity options including :

  • Food hampers
    Bushcraft activities led by our professional instructors
    Water sports activities aka a wet session on the water with our instructors
    Hire of additional kit such as teepees, woodland sauna and other equipment
    Archery

Our family and group camps are generally tailored for the group with a personalized timetable of activities balanced alongside your paddling journey and camping (free range without instructors).
