Online  Zoom Adventure Talk With Canoe Trail’s Ash and Rich 

1st April 2025

As a team we have completed over 14,500 miles of human powered adventures and expeditions and regularly present at national shows and events including Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show, Bushcraft Show and the Kendal Mountain Festival. So pull up a pew or couch, grab a brew or glass and enjoy a night of inspirational adventure. The evening will be split into two halves:

  • Inspirational Half- tales of adventure from Alaska, Canada, UK and on the trail
  • Learning Half- Expedition Planning Workshop 

Start Time:  7pm finishing at 8.30pm

Cost: Free 

Refreshments: choose your brew of choice and settle down for some amusing tales of mishaps, misadventure and life on the trail

Inspirational Half - More about Ash and Rich

We aim to cover stories and tales from the our human powered expeditions below:

RICHARD HARPHAM FRGS and ASHLEY KENLOCK are the husband and wife team who founded Canoe Trail, a watersports and adventure business which was voted one of the ‘Top 52 Things To Do in the World’ by Lonely Planet and Top 3 UK destinations by Red Bull Magazine. Both qualified coaches, and expedition guides they write for many magazines, including Bushcraft & Survival Skills (Rich was the former editor), Paddler, Huffington Post and National Geographic Kids and featured on BBC1.  Follow them @canoetrails

As renown adventurers they have covered  14,500 miles of wilderness expeditions  by ski, bike, kayak, canoe and SUP. www.richadventure.com  including canoeing the Yukon, sea kayaking to Alaska, and even kayaking the channel 3 times! Together they paddled over 100 different UK locations by canoe, kayak and SUP and have channelled their passion into the book.

Life long paddler Rich competes in races, rafting, kayak surfing and became  a  fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, inspirational speaker, canoe and sea kayak leader and a Paddle UK course provider. Ash is an expert SUP coach and experienced canoe leader with a passion for journeying in remote locations often accompanied by their trusty dogs. The Learning Half 

Richard is a qualified Guide Module tutor (Paddle UK tutor) providing expedition and trip planning workshops and the Guide Qualification. Ash is an experienced planner, expedition leader and has many trails under her belt! You can see more about the guide module here:

This is 5 structured separate training days we can run for you and your group, or club.

This session will be useful for trips and activities, UK and overseas as a taster of the full qualification. we will cover a wide range of topics as a taster to planning overseas expeditions:
